Mbour : un gendre poursuivi par sa belle-mère pour 7 millions F CFA
Pursued by his own mother-in-law, who accuses him of embezzling 7 million CFA francs intended to finance a hay business, A. Samb, a plumber by profession, will find out this Tuesday.
According to L'Observateur, after several years of successful collaboration selling Tabaski sheep, the two ventured into hay sales in 2023. The mother-in-law provided the capital, while her son-in-law managed the business. However, when it came time to review the financial results, A. Samb claimed that the entire investment had been lost, explaining that the first rains had destroyed the merchandise stored in a roofless warehouse.
In court, however, his statements were met with serious contradictions: he eventually admitted to reselling the hay to other merchants, before claiming he no longer knew what he had done with the money. The prosecutor, quoted in the newspaper of the Groupe Futurs Médias, condemned his behavior as "disloyal" and "acting in bad faith."
Claiming she was cheated despite two years of waiting and empty promises, the plaintiff is demanding full reimbursement of her capital as well as 2 million in damages. The verdict will be delivered today, the same source added.
