Mbour : une collégienne violée de 07h30 à 13h, le piège WhatsApp et l'indécente proposition du commerçant
B. Dièye, a 27-year-old shopkeeper from Joal, appeared before the Mbour court to answer for particularly serious charges involving a 17-year-old schoolgirl. According to L'Observateur, which attended the hearing, the teenager's ordeal began after she joined a WhatsApp group, through which the defendant managed to contact her.
On October 14, 2024, the trap closed on the teenager. Around 7:30 a.m., barely dropped off at her school in Nguékhokh by her mother, the young girl was picked up by a rental car hired by the accused. She was taken to a hotel in Saly Portudal. To allay her fears, the man told her it was "her aunt's house." In the room where she was held until around 1 p.m., the schoolgirl was subjected to repeated sexual assaults before being taken back to her school at dismissal time.
The case came to light a few days later, according to the same source, during a religious ceremony. An aunt of the victim, intrigued by her state after overhearing her crying on the phone, questioned her. Under pressure, the teenager eventually revealed what had happened and the harassment she was enduring. Alerted, her mother searched her phone and discovered pornographic content and explicit messages that "shivered down her spine." A medical certificate later confirmed that she had recently been deflowered.
Before the judge, the defendant attempted to portray himself as a "victim of deception," claiming that the minor had initiated the meeting. This argument was dismissed by the prosecution, especially since the newspaper of the Groupe Futurs Médias (GFM) revealed that during the hearing, the victim's mother denounced an attempted bribery: the man allegedly offered the family one million CFA francs and gold jewelry to cover up the affair through a forced marriage.
The prosecutor has requested a three-year prison sentence for B. Dièye. The plaintiff, for her part, is seeking 10 million CFA francs in damages for the harm suffered by the young woman, who is now trying to "heal her wounds." The court adjourned the case for deliberation until May 7, the Gfm news outlet concludes.
