Soudan: frappes de drones sur la capitale, selon une source militaire et des témoins
A series of drone strikes targeted the Sudanese capital Khartoum on Wednesday for several hours, a military source and witnesses told AFP.
According to the military source, the army shot down "most of the drones" that were targeting army bases in the northeast of the capital. Witnesses in Omdurman, Khartoum's twin city, said they saw drones flying over the city and heard "loud explosions" overnight from Tuesday to Wednesday.
Since April 15, 2023, Sudan has been embroiled in a war between General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan's army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF), which regularly strike army positions with drones.
According to the Sudan Shield Forces, an armed group close to the army, strikes had already targeted the capital on Tuesday, killing two of its members.
The conflict has killed tens of thousands of people, displaced millions more and caused what the UN calls "the largest humanitarian crisis in our time."
