Ngazobil : Le geste noble de la Direction générale des Douanes qui soulage 124 élèves.
As part of the ongoing implementation of the "Customs-Community" concept, the Directorate General of Customs (DGD) conducted a solidarity visit to the Ngazobil Minor Seminary. This initiative demonstrates the Customs Administration's commitment to strengthening its ties with all segments of the Senegalese nation.
The delegation, led by Lieutenant Colonel Mouhamed Niang, head of the Communication and Public Relations Division (DCRP), and Lieutenant Fallou Mbacké Ndiaye, head of the Joal Customs Brigade, was warmly welcomed by the director of the seminary, Father Théodore Diouf.
At the heart of this historic institution that trains future servants of the Church, the delegation was able to speak with the administrative staff and the 124 boarding students. All of them, from 6th to 9th grade, are pursuing their secondary education in this boarding school with a shared commitment: to answer the call of the priesthood.
In his address, Lieutenant-Colonel Mouhamed Niang conveyed the fraternal greetings of the Director General of Customs, Mr. Babacar Mbaye, to the officials of the establishment as well as to the young seminarians.
For the head of the DCRP, Customs is an institution at the service of the citizen: "The choice of Ngazobil aims to support education and excellence, while raising awareness among young people about the importance of civic responsibility and the protection of our economy."
Father Théodore Diouf expressed his delight at this outpouring of generosity. He personally thanked the Customs Administration for this act of solidarity, which alleviates the burden on the residents. He commended the remarkable work done by these "soldiers of the economy" for the country's development, emphasizing that customs operations are essential for the well-being and security of the Senegalese people.
The visit concluded with a symbolic presentation of donations for the boarding school, followed by an educational exchange with the students about careers in Customs. As a reminder, this immersion in Ngazobil is part of a broader strategy to strengthen ties between Customs and the public.
