Five Nigerian women, aged between 20 and 39, were arrested in Ngor-Almadies by the Vice Squad for conspiracy, human trafficking, and pimping. According to L'Observateur, which detailed the case, they were illegally operating a so-called massage parlor that was, in reality, a brothel. The women have been identified as Ch. P. Atanda (31), DE Joe (30), EE Daniel (39), A.-Ch. Aluma (28), and MO Ojo (20).
The same source specifies that under the guise of this unlicensed establishment, the suspects ran a clandestine network where young women, recruited in Nigeria with false promises of employment, were forced into prostitution upon their arrival in Dakar. The case came to light thanks to the National Police hotline: one of the victims, MO Ojo, alerted the authorities, denouncing the alleged madam, Ch. P. Atanda. Geolocation allowed investigators to raid an apartment on the fourth floor of a building in Ngor, where three of the suspects were caught using marijuana.
The search confirmed the extent of the clandestine activity. Police seized "three packets of marijuana, 27 condoms (seven of which were already used), an empty package of sexual stimulant, a sexual stimulation spray, five bottles of massage oil, three bottles of lubricant, two female sex toys, 14 packaging wrappers, and 11 white capsules resembling cocaine." The investigation also established that the manager directly collected the earnings from the prostitution of the young women.
Brought before the prosecutor's office, the suspects face particularly serious charges, ranging from human trafficking to pimping, including collective drug use and illegally practicing as a masseuse, notes the daily newspaper of the Future Media Group.
