Nguekhokh : Un enfant de 6 ans retrouvé mort dans la voiture d’un policier
The Diam Welly district of Nguekhokh is plunged into consternation after the macabre discovery of the lifeless body of a 6-year-old boy in a policeman's vehicle.
According to Abdoulaye Omar Ba, the victim's father, he was informed of his child's disappearance on Independence Day. "I was informed around 4 p.m. that my child was missing. At first, I thought he couldn't get lost, because he usually goes to and from school alone. Since it was Independence Day, I assumed he had gone to watch the parade," he explained.
But concern grew when, around 5 p.m., the child was still missing. The father, who was in Tivaouane where he works as a security guard, then tried to return to Mbour. But "because of the transport strike, I couldn't find any means of transport," he explained.
It was only around 9 p.m., upon his arrival, that he received the terrible news. "My neighbor called me and asked me to be strong. He drove me to a car. When he opened it, I saw my child lying on his back," he recounts, his voice filled with emotion.
The father also claims that the child's nostrils and ears had been plugged. However, he refrains from making any accusations. "I pray to God that whoever did this is found. Only God knows what really happened. I'm not accusing anyone. The police officer who owns the car is my neighbor," he explains. Deeply affected, Abdoulaye Omar Ba says he is placing his trust in God in the face of this tragedy.
Alerted, the police and firefighters went to the scene to carry out the usual procedures. The child's body was taken to the morgue at Thierno Mouhamadoul Mansour Barro Hospital in Mbour. It is expected to be released to the family on Tuesday for burial.
