Nord Foire : Deux Sierra-léonais arrêtés par la BRS de Dakar avec du kush et des psychotropes

Elements of the Dakar Regional Narcotics Brigade (BRS), under the OCRTIS, arrested two Sierra Leonean nationals in Nord Foire on February 24, 2026 at around 11:30 p.m., as part of an operation targeting a drug trafficking network.

This intervention follows the exploitation of intelligence indicating the existence of a vast network trafficking kush and psychotropic substances (tramadol) in the area, run by a Sierra Leonean national who stored the merchandise at her home before entrusting it to intermediaries responsible for redistribution.

After identifying the suspect's residence, a discreet surveillance operation was set up. Police were then informed of an imminent delivery of tramadol tablets.

A few hours later, an individual left the house after obtaining supplies. He was apprehended as he was about to leave. He is D. Diaby, 35 years old, a carpenter residing in Yoff. He was found in possession of three tramadol tablets concealed in his pocket. The search also yielded an iPhone and 21,500 CFA francs.

When questioned briefly, he admitted to the facts and identified his supplier.

Investigators then went to her home. A search of her bedroom led to the discovery and seizure of 31 bags of kush, 20 tablets of tramadol (containing ten tablets each), 3 additional tramadol tablets, and 8 Solotone Forte tablets. In addition, a significant quantity of packaging materials (scales, plastic bags, paper, tape) was seized, along with 304,000 CFA francs and 80 dalasis (a local currency), according to Seneweb sources.

The suspect, identified as 20-year-old Ms. Conteh, a shopkeeper residing in Nord Foire, was also found in possession of two mobile phones. She attempted to deny the charges, claiming to have recently ceased all illegal activity.

In total, the two suspects were taken into custody for criminal association, possession and trafficking of drugs (kush) and psychotropic substances (tramadol), illegal practice of the pharmacy profession and money laundering, after notification of their rights.

The investigation continues to identify any possible ramifications of the network.
