Opération de désencombrement à Saint-Louis : le préfet lance la reconquête des voies publiques
The prefect of the Saint-Louis department officially launched the operation to decongest public roads in the municipality this Thursday. This initiative, carried out on the instructions of the Ministry of the Interior, is part of a national effort aimed at restoring order, security, and the flow of urban traffic.
The first actions were taken at the Saint-Louis bus station. The municipal team, supported by the defense and security forces and administrative authorities, proceeded to remove the uncontrolled installations, remove the wrecks of vehicles abandoned on the public highway, and demolish the makeshift shelters that were obstructing traffic.
According to the deputy prefect, Abdou Khadre Dieylani Ba, this operation meets several objectives: improving urban mobility, strengthening road safety, preserving public hygiene and beautifying the living environment of residents.
Local authorities are calling on the population to fully support this initiative, which they believe aims to restore Saint-Louis to its former glory, that of a clean, orderly and welcoming city.
