Orange Money : La Taxe sur les Transferts d’Argent (TTA) de 0,5% entre en vigueur dès le 17 décembre
Orange Finances Mobiles Sénégal (OFMS) issued a press release on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, informing its customers of the upcoming implementation of the Money Transfer Tax (TTA). This measure will take effect on Wednesday, December 17, 2025.
In accordance with Law No. 2025-17 of September 27, 2025 amending the General Tax Code, and within the framework of the implementation of the Economic and Social Recovery Plan (PRES) of the State of Senegal, OFMS will act "in its capacity as a responsible corporate citizen, respectful of the legislation in force", to collect this tax on behalf of the Public Treasury.
The Money Transfer Tax is set at 0.5% of the transaction amount, with a maximum cap of 2,000 CFA francs per transaction.
According to the press release, the TTA applies to the following transfer and payment transactions
and withdraws.
Regarding withdrawals, a clarification is provided: "For withdrawals, the 0.5% tax applies when the amount withdrawn in 24 hours is greater than 20,000 CFA francs."
In order not to penalize certain essential transactions, Orange Finances Mobiles Senegal has listed the operations which will not be subject to the TTA: cash deposit operations, salary payments, scholarship payments, fund transfers within the distribution network and their partners.
The collection of the TTA will begin on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, for the transactions concerned. OFMS also announced the implementation of a "feedback and feedback system" for any questions relating to the application of this new tax.

Ils n'ont pas baissé leurs salaires mais Diomaye et Sonko préfèrent taxer les pauvres.

Il n’a cas diminuer ses agences inutiles. les caisses noires et rationnaliser ses dépenses de fonctionnement et de prestige. Les gens souffrent même si certains se sont réginiés dans cette situation chaotique
