Où est Seydina Ndiaye ? Le mystère d'une disparition qui déchire
Having disappeared several months ago, Seydina Babacar Ndiaye leaves behind a grieving family and a community searching for the truth. Between dashed hopes, uncertain leads, and citizen mobilization, his absence remains an enigma that haunts many Senegalese.
Seydina Babacar Ndiaye, a bright and well-respected young man, has been missing for many months. An architect by profession and a basketball player living in France, his life took a dramatic turn upon his return to Dakar. His disappearance has shattered the lives of his loved ones and sparked an unprecedented outpouring of support. Behind the missing person notices lies the portrait of an exemplary son, whom his family is desperately trying to bring back into the light.
An unbearable emptiness
Seydina's absence hangs like a shadow over the family home. "We couldn't celebrate Tabaski because his absence was too heavy to bear. Once the meal was served, no one ate," his only sister, Aïssatou Ndiaye, confided emotionally.
Considered the most promising member of the family, Seydina leaves behind parents exhausted by anguish. The trauma is so profound that Aïssatou had to suspend her professional activity for 45 days, unable to lead a normal life while her brother's fate remains unknown.
False leads and collateral tragedies
At the start of the search, a glimmer of hope remained thanks to numerous sightings. However, none of these leads proved fruitless. The family painfully remembers the day they were informed of his presence in Gadaye. His father, accompanied by his brothers and cousins, rushed there, only to find nothing but emptiness.
Worse still, on the way home, Seydina's father, his mind clouded by grief, was involved in a road accident. "His car, which Seydina had given him, violently collided with a cart," recounts Aïssatou, who is nonetheless relieved that no one was injured.
The grey area of the rescue operation
Despite a petition with over 2,000 signatures and requests for explanations sent to the authorities, the silence persists. One specific incident has fueled the family's anger: the role of the firefighters during a brief search for Seydina.
“Fishermen found him on the beach at Yoff Tongor. They called the gendarmerie, who in turn issued a requisition order and asked the firefighters to take him in,” explains Aïssatou. “They let him go even though they knew he was weak and hungry.”
Since then, no clear answer has been given regarding the progress of the official investigations.
A surge of citizen solidarity
The Seydina Ndiaye case has transcended the private sphere. It has become a symbol of the shortcomings in the handling of disappearances in Senegal. The mobilization on social media and in neighborhoods testifies to a collective will not let this case be forgotten. For the community, finding Seydina has become an imperative of justice and humanity.
A heartfelt cry: "Come back to us"
“Seydina, if you can hear us, know that Mom and Dad are exhausted. Come back to us, we miss you terribly,” his sister pleads. This message is carried by his two younger brothers and his two older brothers living abroad, all united in their unbearable wait.
The question remains, haunting: Where is Seydina Ndiaye? As long as the truth has not been revealed, this wound will remain gaping for his family and for all those who refuse to forget him.
