Pape Ngagne Ndiaye à la Sûreté urbaine : La réaction du journaliste Ibrahima Lissa Faye
"A summons for trivial matters. This is why Senegalese democracy is crumbling more and more." These remarks come from journalist and media owner Ibrahima Lissa Faye, who deplores the summons of journalist Pape Ngagne Ndiaye to the Urban Security division, following comments targeting Ousmane Sonko.
The general manager of PressAfrik believes that a denial or a clarification would have been enough to leave it at that or, at worst, a referral to CORED.
He says he is in real pain. "Pope, hang in there, you have our support," he says to encourage his colleague.
While maintaining that the Association of Online Press Publishers and Professionals of Senegal (APPEL) "denounces and protests against these multiple summonses of media actors, especially in the wake of the celebration of World Press Freedom Day, and after a decline in the RSF 2026 ranking."
"We call on human rights organizations: Seydi Gassama, Alioune Tine, Abibatou Samb, Article 19, Senegal and West Africa," he wrote.
