Pâques 2026 : Dakar Dem Dikk facilite le deplacement de plus de 8500 voyageurs
Present this Friday at the Baux Maraîchers station, the Minister of Land and Air Transport, Yankoba Diemé, praised the efficiency of the general management and operational staff of the national transport company.
For the Easter holidays, the special service offered by Dakar Dem Dikk between the evening of Thursday, April 2nd and the morning of Friday, April 3rd, helped to ease congestion at bus stations and ensure smooth travel to several regions of Senegal. As a result, nearly 8,529 passengers used the lines that were specially reinforced for the occasion.
As with every major holiday, the influx of travelers leaving Dakar to join their families in the interior of the country presents a significant challenge. For this 2026 edition, the national transport company Dakar Dem Dikk has deployed an exceptional system, organized around several departure points in the capital.
Departures from four areas of Dakar to meet the high demand. These departures have been organized from:
• Guédiawaye
• Grand Yoff Housing Project
• Colobane
• Market Garden Leases
This network made it possible to reach a maximum number of travelers.
Thanks to this deployment, passengers were able to reach both major cities in the south and towns in the central and northern parts of the country. Key areas served include:
• Ziguinchor
• Kaolack
• Fatick
• Thiès
• Mbour
• Joal
• Kolda
• Sédhiou
• Saint-Louis
• Podor
• Linguère
• Touba
• Karang
• Tambacounda
• Diourbel
• Louga
Across all departures, 8,529 passengers benefited from this special Easter service. This figure demonstrates both the significant mobility needs during religious holidays and Dakar Dem Dikk's ability to meet them effectively.
Beyond the number, the quality of service was prioritized: regularity of departures, management of flows thanks to the effective participation of the defense and security forces and attention paid to transport conditions.
