Parcelles Assainies : Démasquée pour vol de 4 millions de FCFA, elle se jette du 2e étage d'un immeuble
A young girl attempted to take her own life on the night of Saturday, March 21, 2026, in Parcelles Assainies, after being unmasked as the perpetrator of a theft of 4 million CFA francs from the family that had taken her in since childhood, according to Seneweb sources.
AB, 20 years old, originally from Fouta, was taken in at the age of 7 by her aunt Coumba B. and her aunt's husband, Samba D., who lived in Unit 25 of Parcelles Assainies. Raised as their own child, she nevertheless began, according to testimonies, to change her behavior over time.
Samba D. kept his savings in the family wardrobe. Initially, he noticed that 3 million CFA francs were missing. The Tuesday before the incident, he discovered that another million had also vanished from the same place, bringing the total loss to 4 million CFA francs. Alerted by her husband, the aunt conducted her own investigation with the young woman.
AB initially denied the allegations, before eventually admitting to them and returning 915,000 CFA francs taken from the last million stolen. She confessed to using the stolen money to buy mobile phones.
The desperate gesture
Deeply affected by her ordeal after being exposed, AB took her own life on the night of March 21st, around 9:30 PM. She jumped from the second-floor terrace of her family's building. Alerted by phone, officers from the Parcelles Assainies district police station immediately went to the scene. While no apparent injuries were noted during the initial assessment, the young woman complained of pain in her thighs and throughout her body.
Firefighters took her into their care and transported her urgently to a medical facility. The investigation is ongoing.
