Parcelles-Assainies : six agresseurs opérant en charrette, dont un Cap-Verdien et un étudiant, déférés devant le procureur Ibrahima Ndoye
Wednesday, March 25, 2026. A delivery driver is violently attacked by a group of youths before being robbed of his belongings. A chase ensues, leading to the arrest of six suspects.
Late in the afternoon, around 5 p.m., AA Diallo, a delivery driver, was riding his motorcycle in the Parcelles-Assainies area. At intersection 22, his motorcycle lightly grazed the handles of a cart while overtaking. Unable to stop immediately, he continued to the nearby roundabout where he pulled over.
It was then that several young men, getting off the cart, rushed at him. They punched him repeatedly, violently assaulted him, and snatched his motorcycle key and mobile phone before fleeing in their cart, according to Seneweb sources.
Undeterred, Diallo immediately commandeered a motorcycle and gave chase. Upon reaching the roundabout known as "Caseba," the fugitives turned off towards the Cambérène crossroads. One of them, A. Ba, attempted to escape on foot by getting down from the cart, but was immediately apprehended. His accomplices continued their flight.
Taken to the Parcelles-Assainies district police station, under the command of Commissioner El Hadji Aly SOW, A. BA was placed in custody. The investigation led to the location of his accomplices in Guédiawaye, where they were apprehended with the support of the Guédiawaye central police station.
The accused are identified as follows: AR NDIAYE, 20 years old, seller, residing in unit 11 of Parcelles-Assainies; AY SOW, 18 years old, student, residing in unit 24; JP DIATTA, 17 years old, pupil, residing in unit 24; E. MASSAL, 17 years old, pupil, originally from Cape Verde, residing in unit 24; and M. BADJI, 18 years old, mechanic, residing in unit 24 of Parcelles-Assainies.
The horse-drawn cart, presumed to have been used in the commission of the crime, is seized and impounded for the purposes of the investigation.
When questioned, the six accused denied all the charges, despite the consistent statements of the victim and witnesses. They maintained that they had simply gone to the area in the direction of the National Arena. This version was deemed unconvincing in light of the evidence gathered.
At the end of their custody, they were brought before Prosecutor Ibrahima NDOYE, head of the prosecutor's office at the High Court of Dakar.
