«Pathologie du mensonge» : enseignant de 60 ans accusé de viols par des jumelles, le contrepied du procureur
Before the Criminal Court of Pikine-Guédiawaye, the trial of A. Sy, a 60-year-old teacher and former director of School 16, took a dramatic turn after three years of pretrial detention. Prosecuted for repeated rapes of his two twin nieces whom he had taken in, the teacher saw the prosecution's case collapse during the hearing, which was attended by L'Observateur.
Imprisoned since June 2023, the same source recounts, the teacher has always denied the allegations, contrasting his educational background with the accusations of his nieces, who reiterated their statements in court. The newspaper reports that scientific analysis has contradicted the plaintiffs' version of events: medical certificates revealed that while one of them had experienced defloration in the past, her twin sister was still a virgin, her hymen perfectly intact despite the accusations of repeated penetration.
The newspaper of the Future Media Group (GFM) also points out that an official from the SOS Children's Village, where the twins were raised for seventeen years, submitted a written statement alleging a "pathology of lying" in the two sisters. According to this expert, they are perfectly capable of "inventing a rape and conspiring together to support an obvious lie."
Faced with these contradictions, the Gfm headline concludes, the public prosecutor determined that the evidence in the case did not establish the defendant's guilt and requested his acquittal. The defense argued in the same vein. The verdict is expected on August 4th.
