The local police brigade in Malem Hodar, under the jurisdiction of the Kaffrine Gendarmerie Company, dismantled a cattle rustling ring. Two suspects were arrested and brought before the Kaffrine High Court.
On February 23, 2026, acting on information about cattle thefts in the area, the gendarmes of Malem Hodar took action and arrested two individuals.
They were found in possession of eight cattle of suspicious origin, including six cows and two bulls, being transported in a horse-drawn cart. Both means of transport were immediately impounded.
The two defendants are PM Ndiaye, 43, a farmer, and H. Diouf, 28, a shepherd. They are being prosecuted for conspiracy and cattle rustling committed at night using a vehicle.
At the end of the investigation, the two accused were brought before the High Court of Kaffrine.
