Présumés homosexuels : "La graine du VIH est aujourd'hui semée", alerte And Samm Jikko Yi qui compte prendre ses propres responsabilités
The association "And Samm Jikko Yi" expressed its deep concern following the so-called "alleged homosexuals" case in Keur Massar, the developments of which continue to arouse strong emotion across the country.
"Anger is at its peak in all departments. Senegal is shocked. An anger legitimately linked to the criminal dimension of the acts which constitute the voluntary transmission of HIV/AIDS. The State of Senegal can already measure its full responsibility for the organization, the evolution and the level of programmed and now fully assumed propagation of the LGBTQI+ cause in our country," the association laments.
According to "And Samm Jikko Yi", these accusations, if confirmed by the courts, would constitute extremely serious offenses requiring a firm and uncompromising judicial response.
"Homosexuals are now confident and aware of the impunity they are granted by the law as formulated in Article 319 of the Senegalese Penal Code. Today, they acknowledge the facts and shamelessly accept their identity with detailed confessions. The trial of the homosexuals of Diourbel and the Binta Mécanicien case are still fresh in people's minds," the statement reads.
The movement also emphasizes that past legal cases, still present in the collective memory, are now fueling a climate of mistrust and reinforcing the public's expectations of an impartial, independent justice system free from any pressure.
"And Samm Jikko Yi" said it was particularly concerned about the social and health consequences that such events could cause, calling on the authorities to shed full light on this matter, in strict compliance with judicial procedures and the rights guaranteed by law.
"Samm Jikko Yi's worst fears could never have reached such a calamity in such a sordid form. The seed of HIV has now been sown and we will have to drink the cup to the dregs. Let us hope that justice, at least this time, will do its job without pressure and without hindrance," warns "And Samm Jikko Yi."
In this context, the organization announces a press conference to be held on Monday, February 16, 2026, starting at 10:00 AM, at the Unfinished Mosque (former airport). At this event, its leaders intend to present their analysis of the situation, their concerns, and the actions they plan to take.
Samm Jikko Yi also believes that the responses provided so far by the authorities lack clarity and firmness.
