« Qui protège l’élève-magistrat ? » Le cri de colère de la Brigade Féministe face à une affaire de viol étouffée !
This case is shaking the Senegalese judicial system, although the media silence surrounding it is considered "worrying" by women's rights organizations. A future magistrate, identified by the initials C. MB. T., is at the center of legal proceedings on extremely serious charges: rape, pedophilia, and abduction of a minor.
The tragedy unfolded on January 15, 2026, following a complaint filed with the Dakar High Court. The victim, TN, a young woman from the center of the country, had come to Dakar "hoping to find work as a housekeeper." It was in these precarious circumstances that she came into contact with the student magistrate.
Kidnapping and intimidation: a tale of horror
The account of events, as reported by the investigation, is chilling. The suspect allegedly held the young woman captive for three days, repeatedly raping her while taking photographs of her. Even more disturbing, the statement specifies that the individual made constant threats, using his status as a future magistrate to intimidate the victim.
A "speculative speed" and a criticized leniency
Since the start of the investigation, the accused's legal proceedings have been striking for their "speed and apparent leniency." Although the prosecutor immediately appealed, the investigating judge decided to place the trainee magistrate under judicial supervision, thus leaving him free.
The Feminist Brigade is criticizing the unusual speed of the proceedings: "The hearings began on Monday, March 9, 2026, less than a month after the indictment, a speed that raises questions." The group warns that this decision to release the suspect "could seriously endanger the victim, as well as other women and girls."
Pressure and "mediation" to save a career
Behind the scenes, the victim's family is reportedly under intense pressure to suppress the scandal. The statement denounces a range of methods, from "threats" and "intimidation" to "marriage proposals."
According to the Feminist Brigade, "everything seems to be done to preserve the career of this future magistrate, disregarding the life and dignity of a young woman from a modest background." The group regrets that many people are actively mediating "to the detriment of the survivor and her family's pursuit of justice."
This case, described as "unprecedented in the annals of Senegalese justice," raises a fundamental question: "Who will protect the trainee magistrate?" The Feminist Brigade concludes by calling for strict impartiality: "We rely on the Senegalese justice system to guarantee equality for all before the law, without distinction of function or social class." The public now awaits to see whether the institution will prioritize the protection of the vulnerable over the preservation of its own ranks.
