Radisson hôtel de Diamniadio : Pape Djibril Fall dénonce des licenciements abusifs et une fermeture "cynique"
The standoff between the management of the Radisson Hotel in Diamniadio and its dismissed employees is taking a worrying turn. Visiting the workers on Tuesday, September 30, the president of the Les Serviteurs party warned of what he calls social injustice and an attack on the dignity of the dozens of employees affected.
"I learned during this new visit that these dozens of Senegalese workers, facing unfair dismissals, were ordered to leave the headquarters of their legitimate demands, which is, in this case, nothing more normal than their workplace. The height of cynicism, the management took the unilateral decision to close the hotel and to blame the workers who are mobilized there with the fallacious argument of illegal occupation of the workplace," notes Pape Djibril Fall bitterly.
Indeed, for more than two weeks, these laid-off workers had been sleeping in the hotel lobby, demanding that their rights be respected. A video made by the workers themselves and widely shared on social media shows the extent of the dismay and the determination of these employees to defend their jobs.
"I am alerting the government and the public that these brave women and men have been sleeping in the hotel lobby for more than two weeks to defend their work and their dignity. Support them!" the MP warned.

C'est seulement au Senegal ou un employeur ne peut pas licencier ses employees. Des qu'on a un travail, c'est acquis quoiqu'on fait.
Cet hotel est gere par une entreprise privee qui verse a l'etat ses redevances. Cet entreprise peut licencier des employees pour des raisons economique comme le dit la loi. L'etat du Senegal n'y peut rien comme ce ne sont pas des employes de l'etat. Si l'etat se mele de la gerance des prive, personne ne va investir ou ouvrir une entreprise au Senegal.
Tout est politique au Senegal!
Le problème c'est le code du travail et les conventions collectives beaucoup trop rigides. Il faudrait les assouplir, ça boosterait également l'emploi. En fait tant qu'on ne comprend pas que cette rigidité liée aux conditions de licenciement freine les recrutements, on n'avancera pas. Il faudrait simplement clarifier que tout employeur a le droit de licencier un employé par exemple ayant moins de 5 ans d'ancienneté en payant des indemnités clairs (1,5mois par année d'ancienneté, préavis, congés) sans que cela ne soit interprété comme licenciement abusif. Il faut des reformes qui aident la création d'emplois !

Quand on est licencié on ne doit pas arriver par contestation à dormir dans les corridors de l'hôtel. L'employeur est dans ses droits. Une porte ferme, une autre à rechercher s'ouvrira à eux. Ils doivent partir et ne pas s'accrocher vainement à leurs emplois irrémédiablement irrévocablement perdus de juste droit. Nul ne devrait les encourager à persister dans le tort et l'erreur qui de surcroit portent préjudice au fonctionnement normal de l'hôtel. P D Fall a manifestement tort de les encourager dans le manquement. La démagogie et la recherche de clientélisme politique ne doivent pas aller jusqu'à un tel point d'irresponsabilité
