Révision du Code de justice militaire : La gendarmerie restitue les travaux de modernisation
The National Gendarmerie hosted the ceremony for the presentation of the revised Code of Military Justice on Thursday, February 5, 2026, in the amphitheater of the National Gendarmerie High Command headquarters, Seneweb learned from Colonel Ibrahima Ndiaye. The ceremony was presided over by Major General Martin Faye, High Commander of the National Gendarmerie and Director of Military Justice, in the presence of the Chief of Staff of the Minister of the Armed Forces, as well as magistrates, lawyers, and representatives of the various defense and security forces.
It marks the culmination of a rigorous process conducted by a commission established in accordance with the guidelines of the competent authorities.
The work, conducted under the chairmanship of Brigadier General Daouda Diop, coordinator of the Interministerial Intervention and Coordination Framework for Counter-Terrorism Operations (CICO), allowed for an in-depth examination of the rules of organization, jurisdiction and operation of the military justice system.
Squadron Leader Aboubakry Ba, head of the Military Justice Division and rapporteur of the work, carried out the presentation relating to the statement of reasons, the revised draft of the Code of Military Justice as well as the section on the definitions of terms.
This decisive step demonstrates the constant commitment of the defense and security forces to strengthen the rule of law, adapt the legal framework to current realities, and consolidate a modern, effective military justice system that complies with republican principles.
The high commander of the national gendarmerie and director of military justice praised the commitment, professionalism and availability of all members of the commission as well as the contribution of the representatives of the security forces, whose expertise was crucial to the success of this work.
