Richard-Toll : un Égyptien en situation irrégulière arrêté en pleine consommation de chanvre indien
It was during a security operation that members of the research brigade of the urban police station of Richard-Toll arrested Islam Ramadan Abdallah, a 30-year-old Egyptian trader, residing in the Thiabakh district.
The officers caught him smoking a joint in front of a house in the Thiabakh neighborhood. Approaching discreetly, they quickly identified the substance as Indian hemp.
After declining to show any evidence, they proceeded to pat him down and discovered two bags of Indian hemp in one of his pockets.
When questioned about the facts, the accused initially denied owning the product before finally confessing.
According to Seneweb sources, he was left without papers after six months in Senegal.
When asked to present his identity documents and residence permit, Islam Ramadan Abdallah was unable to produce any document, neither an identity card, nor a travel document, nor a residence permit. He stated that he had arrived in Senegal six months earlier to conduct business, and that his visa had since expired.
He is therefore being prosecuted for possession and use of cannabis, as well as for illegal residence in Senegal. The prosecutor has been notified and an investigation is underway.
