Route Kidira - Bakel : Les populations plaident pour la reprise des travaux à l'arrêt depuis plus de six mois
The people of Gadiaga and Boundou are fed up. Since last May, work on the Kidira-Bakel road, undertaken by the Senegalese government, has been at a standstill. Construction sites are deserted and machinery is immobilized for no reason, even though this main road is the socioeconomic lifeblood of the people of this eastern part of the country.
The major bridges are finished, but not completely connected to the roadway. This makes traffic difficult due to the multiple diversions.
The population, through the Bakel Alert and Monitoring Committee, is calling on the new regime to quickly restart work. They intend to hit the tarmac in the coming days if their grievances are not met.
