Saint-Louis : Un motocycliste arrêté pour entrave à une mission de police
On Tuesday, January 13, 2026, around 3:30 p.m., B. Sèye, born on January 18, 1988 in Saint-Louis, a trader residing in Darou, was taken into custody at the Saint-Louis central police station for obstructing a police mission and driving without a driver's license or insurance.
As part of a special operation to enforce helmet use, officers from the urban police force set up a checkpoint at the corner of Tall Street. During the operation, they stopped a motorcyclist on his 600cc Dominator because he was not wearing a helmet. The officer approached to issue him a ticket. He refused to comply and called the officer incompetent.
He remained on his motorcycle, refusing to turn off the ignition or hand over the key, thus creating a crowd in the street. He also claimed not to possess the necessary motorcycle license and permit. After a brief interrogation, he confessed, claiming he had acted in a fit of anger. The motorcycle was impounded at the station.
