Saint-Louis : Un vigile de l’UGB arrêté avec de la drogue, tente de corrompre les policiers
The Research Brigade of the Central Police Station of Saint-Louis proceeded, on Sunday, September 14, 2025, to the arrest of Daouda Sow, security guard at the Gaston Berger University (UGB), for offering and selling Indian hemp as well as attempted corruption.
Aged 29 and residing in Sanar, D. Sow was arrested at the main entrance of the UGB, following information that he was actively trafficking Indian hemp. The police, led by Chief Superintendent Mamadou Lamarana Diallo, set up a surveillance before arresting him, according to Seneweb sources.
A body search revealed two cones of Indian hemp in his pockets. As he attempted to escape, officers also discovered a taser, a horn used as a weapon, a pair of scissors, and papers used to package the drugs in his backpack.
In an attempt to escape prosecution, the accused offered the police 200,000 CFA francs in exchange for his release, a futile attempt which worsened his case.
The drugs, estimated at 100 grams, as well as the seized items and the money intended for corruption, were sealed.
At the end of the investigation, D.Sow was finally brought before the Saint-Louis prosecutor's office on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 to answer to the charges against him.

le dossier le plus urgent c'est la lutte contre la corruption au sein des rangs de la police elle même
