According to the information gathered, the young man, a trained healthcare assistant, posed as a doctor to the local population. He allegedly offered consultations and administered treatments without any authorization or recognized expertise.
Alerted by residents concerned about his dubious practices, the gendarmerie opened an investigation that led to his arrest. Seydou Coulibaly was taken into custody this Friday at 4:30 p.m. while investigations continue to determine the extent of his activities and any possible victims.
This case once again highlights the risks associated with illegal medical practices in certain remote areas where the lack of health infrastructure sometimes pushes individuals to replace health professionals.
The investigation is ongoing under the supervision of the relevant authorities.
