Scandale alimentaire : Des glaces fabriquées à même le sol débusquées à la Zac Mbao !
An operation carried out by the Zac Mbao district police station on the night of March 22, 2026, brought an end to the activities of a clandestine ice-making unit operating in particularly unsanitary conditions.
Four individuals were arrested and taken into custody. They are being prosecuted for conspiracy, operating without authorization, producing and selling food unfit for consumption, and endangering the lives of others.
According to police sources, the operation was launched around 12:30 a.m. following a noise complaint in the Cité Nar neighborhood. Upon arrival, officers from the Criminal Investigation Brigade (BR) discovered that the property actually housed an illegal food production unit.
A shockingly unsanitary spectacle
The findings at the site are considered alarming. Cones of flour were placed directly on the floor on dirty supports, while bags of flour were stored without any protection. The equipment, particularly the refrigerators and production machinery, was in an advanced state of disrepair, completely incompatible with basic hygiene standards.

The officers also noted the presence of haphazard electrical connections, made of patched-up wires, exposing the occupants to major risks of fire or electrocution, despite the existence of a functional meter.
During their questioning, the suspects admitted to the acts, claiming to have administrative authorization. However, no document could be produced to support these statements.
The equipment used for production was seized and placed under seal, with the exception of one large, fixed machine. An investigation is currently underway to identify the actual owner of this unit and to assess the extent of the distribution of these dangerous products on the local market.
