Scandale au Tribunal de Thiès : Comment un « faux juge », une ASP du Parquet et leurs complices ont dépouillé un proche d'un détenu
Four individuals, including a community security officer (ASP) stationed at the Thiès Prosecutor's Office, were arrested by the gendarmerie for criminal association, impersonation of a public official and fraud.
This is the story of a man broken by his brother's imprisonment. D. Ba, an ambulance driver, experienced this firsthand. His younger brother, M. Ba, prosecuted for the rape of a minor resulting in pregnancy, has been in detention for several months.
Desperate, D. Ba was looking for any way out. It was in this context of great vulnerability that a network of fraudsters targeted him.
The Thiès Territorial Gendarmerie Brigade has uncovered a scheme as audacious as it is cynical. Following a complaint filed by D. Ba, the gendarmes arrested four individuals suspected of having organized themselves into a veritable network to extort money from the families of prisoners. The accused, D. Fall, A. Faye, D. Ndiaye, and D. Mbodj, were taken into custody and subsequently charged with criminal conspiracy, impersonating a public official, and fraud.
It all began in September 2025. Deeply affected by his younger brother's imprisonment, D. Ba took numerous steps to secure his release. It was in this context of family distress that D. Mbodj allegedly approached him, presenting himself as a legal intermediary with strong connections within the justice system.
The latter then put the victim in contact with D. Fall, who, according to the investigation, was posing as a magistrate serving at the Thiès High Court. Skillfully exploiting D. Ba's credulity, the "fake judge" allegedly demanded an initial payment of six million (6,000,000) CFA francs in exchange for his supposed intervention with the Public Prosecutor.
After negotiation, the amount was reduced to three million (3,000,000) CFA francs. D. Fall presented himself as an influential magistrate, capable of obtaining the prisoner's freedom in a few weeks.
Trusting the system, D. Ba complied and gradually paid the sum of 1,950,000 CFA francs, of which 1,500,000 CFA francs was handed over against a receipt, with the balance to be paid upon his brother's actual release. Five months passed. No action was taken. No promises were kept. The detainee remains in prison, according to exclusive information obtained by Seneweb.
The investigation conducted by the national gendarmerie revealed a particularly disturbing element. While D. Fall, D. Mbodj and D. Ndiaye were not listed among the judicial staff, A. Faye was indeed working at the High Court of Thiès, as a security and community liaison officer (ASP) seconded to the Public Prosecutor's Office.
Not wearing a uniform, she allegedly took advantage of her position and knowledge of the place to pass herself off, in the eyes of the victim, as the magistrate's personal secretary, according to the file.
According to the statements collected, the sums paid by D. Ba allegedly passed between members of the network: from D. Fall to A. Faye, then to D. Ndiaye, suspected of being a recruiter working in connection with a figure in the judicial world, according to the investigation.
Before investigators, the accused reportedly admitted to acting in concert to extort funds from the victim, while contesting the charges of impersonating members of the judicial staff.
The analysis of their mobile phones revealed audio recordings and financial transactions corroborating these money flows and confirming collusion among members of the group, according to Seneweb sources.
Given the sensitive nature of the case, the hearing was reportedly held behind closed doors. Following the proceedings, the Thiès High Court adjourned the case for deliberation yesterday until March. The four defendants returned to their cells at the central prison in the railway capital. A figure within the judicial system may be implicated in this case.
