Sédhiou : Découverte d’un corps sans vie dans un champ d’anacardiers à Diéndé
The elements of Adjutant-Chief Saliou Guèye, head of the gendarmerie brigade of Sédhiou, were notified this Thursday, April 23, 2026, around 2 p.m., of the discovery of a lifeless body in Bissary Ndiounkouya, a village located in the commune of Diendé (department of Sedhiou).
The victim has been identified as Qu. Nhass, a Bissau-Guinean national, widowed and mother of two. A resident of a hamlet called Tambacouroto, she is believed to have a mental disability. She reportedly left her family home on the night of April 18-19, 2026. Her body was found several days later by the owner of the field while he was harvesting cashew nuts.
Upon being informed, the village chief alerted the Sédhiou gendarmerie brigade. The gendarmes arrived on the scene immediately, accompanied by firefighters from the 43rd fire and rescue company. Initial findings indicate that the body was lying on its back, head facing north, with the right foot tucked under a cashew tree. No signs of violence were found on the body, according to sources close to the investigation.
The body was taken to the morgue at the Amadou Tidiane Ba Regional Hospital in Sédhiou. An investigation is underway.
