Second Lieutenant MD Ndour, serving at the Regional Water and Forestry Inspectorate of Sédhiou, was found lifeless in his room on Sunday afternoon.
According to initial reports, the death occurred following a seizure during the night from Saturday to Sunday.
Second Lieutenant MD Ndour was married and the father of a daughter.
The relevant services are currently working on the administrative arrangements necessary to transport the body to Thiès, its region of origin.
