Sédhiou : Vers une transformation économique locale par les chaînes de valeur
The governor of Sédhiou, Diadia Dia, chaired a regional development committee (CRD) meeting this Thursday dedicated to preparing a monograph study on value chains. This initiative, led by the Ministry of Economy, is part of the Senegal 2050 transformation agenda aimed at boosting the local private sector.
According to Mousse Sall, the objective of the Competitiveness and Employment Improvement Program (PACE) is to make the territorial hubs competitive by relying on a structuring of local potential.
To this end, a team of twelve experts has been mobilized to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the region's resources and factor endowments. This work will identify both internal and external obstacles to growth in order to propose concrete solutions.
The approach is based on close collaboration with decentralized services for data collection and accurate mapping of resources.
Ultimately, this study will lead to a directory of companies and a targeted support plan for economic stakeholders in the Southern region. This is a step towards transforming natural resources into genuine drivers of wealth creation and sustainable jobs.
