Situation hydrologique du fleuve Sénégal : La tendance à la baisse se confirme

On Sunday, November 9, 2025, at 8 a.m., the Podor hydrometric scale, located at the El Hadj Boubou Sall quay, recorded a level of the Senegal River at 5.61 m. This figure marks a decrease of 5 cm compared to the previous day, when the level was 5.66 m.

This downward trend is part of a dynamic that began several days ago. For comparison, on the same date in 2024, the river peaked at 5.79 m, which is 18 cm higher than today.

It is important to remember that the alert level, set at 5m for Podor, has been exceeded since September 14, 2025. This critical threshold calls for constant vigilance, despite the gradual decrease observed.

The situation remains under control, but it requires caution and a swift response. Hydrological authorities continue to monitor the river level daily, while riverside communities are urged to remain attentive to alert bulletins and safety instructions.
