Solidarité Ramadan : Domou Sénégal mobilise 115 bénévoles pour offrir 7 000 Ndogous à Dakar
During Ramadan 2026, the citizen association Domou Sénégal made a significant impact with its large-scale mobilization. From March 14th to 18th, the organization carried out a series of operations to distribute iftar meals in three key areas of the capital, helping nearly 7,000 beneficiaries.

An impressive logistical strike force
The operation focused on sites with high population density and strong symbolic significance: Cheikh Anta Diop University (UCAD), Saint Paul Parish in Grand Yoff, and Abass Ndao Hospital. In total, "6,950 food kits were distributed to students, medical staff, caregivers of patients, and people in precarious situations."

The system put in place has demonstrated remarkable effectiveness, particularly at UCAD where "nearly 6,000 people were served in a few hours, illustrating the association's ability to deploy rapidly".

Each kit was meticulously prepared to "meet the immediate needs of breaking the fast," including dates, bread, milk, coffee, and other essential items. This logistical feat required the mobilization of 115 volunteers, supported by partners such as the COUD's Social Affairs Department, Caritas, and the Noum Association.

Beyond the donation, the strengthening of social bonds
For Domou Sénégal, the objective goes beyond simply providing food aid. In a sometimes difficult economic context, the organization believes that "social cohesion, weakened by economic and social realities, must be actively maintained, especially during times of vulnerability." By simultaneously working with a university, a hospital, and a parish, the organization reaffirms its "inclusive approach, at the intersection of diverse populations and realities."

The emotional impact was palpable on the ground, where expressions of gratitude, prayers, and appreciation poured in. Through this action, Domou Sénégal reaffirms its role as a key player in national cohesion, making solidarity a concrete lever for impact in Senegal. True to its mission, the organization continues to work towards a more resilient society through targeted and effective field actions.
