Thiaroye : Le vol de moutons vire au drame, une dame de 75 ans instigatrice d'une tentative de meurtre ?
N. Sène, also known as Khady Sène, a 75-year-old housewife residing in the Saliou Ndir neighborhood, is one step away from prison. The elderly woman was brought before the Pikine-Guédiawaye prosecutor's office last Friday by officers from the Thiaroye district police station. She is accused of instigating a punitive expedition, led by one of her sons, to settle a score with a neighbor she suspects of cattle theft. Prosecutor Saliou Dicko, who requested a judicial investigation, also sought a warrant for her arrest.
According to the investigation, around 10 p.m., police were alerted that an individual was being attacked by a group of five people who were violently beating him with bricks in the Saliou Ndir neighborhood. Officers from the investigation unit quickly arrived at the scene to begin their investigation. There, they found a man lying unconscious on the ground with serious head injuries.
According to witness PY Ndiaye, who claims to be the victim's brother, the victim is identified as S. Ndiaye, 29 years old, a cart driver residing in the Saliou Ndir neighborhood. He stated that around 6:00 PM, the accused woman went to their home to accuse the victim of stealing two of her sheep, which the victim categorically denied. The woman then went to summon her son, O. Ndiaye, also known as "Cheikh Bi," a repeat offender. He and his gang intercepted the victim around 10:00 PM and brutally beat him with bricks.
Following this, investigators raided the elderly woman's home. They arrested her, while her son and accomplices fled.
N. Sène was taken into custody for conspiracy, attempted murder, and complicity in armed robbery committed at night. During questioning, she attempted to deny the charges, but failed to convince investigators. She did, however, maintain that the victim was in the habit of stealing her livestock. She explained that around 5:00 PM, after discovering her two sheep were missing, she went to the victim's home to reclaim her property. According to her, the discussion escalated into insults. She claims that her son, O. Ndiaye, also known as "Cheikh Bi," having learned of the situation, decided, along with his gang, to attack the victim.
She was taken to the Idrissa Pouye Hospital in Grand-Yoff (HOGIP) by firefighters. In his statement, S. Ndiaye confirmed that he had been attacked. He stated that on April 8, 2026, around 9:00 p.m., Khady Sène entered his home and publicly accused him of stealing sheep before hurling insults. He claims that later that night, around 10:00 p.m., he was lured to the area near School 27 in Djiddah Thiaroye Kaw, where he was confronted by "Cheikh Bi," a man known as "Serer," and several other individuals. They assaulted him, stealing 18,500 FCFA and his silver ring, before throwing bricks at his head, leaving him unconscious. He indicated that he regained consciousness at the hospital after several hours in a coma.
Following a hearing before the prosecutor's office, Prosecutor Saliou Dicko requested the opening of a judicial investigation against N. Sène, her son O. Ndiaye, alias "Cheikh Bi," and an unknown individual. According to the prosecutor, there are strong indications of criminal conspiracy, armed robbery, and attempted murder. The prosecutor requested a warrant for the mother's detention and an arrest warrant for her son, as well as for another individual yet to be identified. The case has been assigned to the judge of the second chamber. The accused will learn their fate tomorrow.
