Thiès : 8 mois de prison requis contre un berger surpris avec la femme de son camarade
The 20-year-old shepherd, K. Diouf, appeared before the Thiès court for flagrant offenses on charges of indecent assault and trespassing. The events took place in the commune of Ngaye Mékhé.
According to the indictment, the defendant allegedly entered F. Sow's bedroom in the middle of the night, while her husband was away. He allegedly attempted to force her to have sexual relations. The victim reportedly resisted vigorously before being rescued thanks to her cries for help.
In court, K. Diouf admitted to going to the complainant's home, but gave a different version of events. He claimed that F. Sow invited him there around 2 a.m. "She was the one who told me her husband wasn't there," he stated, denying any attempted rape. He also maintained that the woman was his girlfriend.
But F. Sow rejected these allegations. She explained that the defendant entered her room uninvited and refused to leave despite her orders. "He told me he wouldn't leave without having sex with me," she stated.
The situation reportedly escalated into a physical altercation, during which K. Diouf allegedly brandished a machete to threaten her with death, before fleeing, frightened by the woman's screams.
A witness, O. Ka, confirmed hearing suspicious noises and cries for help. Upon approaching, he saw the defendant rushing out of the room, armed with a machete.
The public prosecutor, for whom the facts are established, has requested an eight-month prison sentence. The verdict is expected soon.
