Thiès : Le guérisseur G. Diop abuse de sa patiente lors d'un « bain mystique » et prend 10 ans !

The fate of traditional healer G. Diop was decided this Tuesday, May 12th, by the criminal chamber of the Thiès High Court. Prosecuted for rape and quackery against the young K. Tine, he was found guilty and sentenced to 10 years in prison. The events, judged on April 15, 2026, took place in Tatène Sérère, in the commune of Notto Diobass.

The victim's chilling account

The case came to light on June 5, 2023, when K. Tine filed a complaint with the Thiès Research Section. Suffering from mystical crises (farou rab) since 2019, she had gone to see traditional healer G. Diop on the recommendation of a relative. During her second visit, while accompanied by her grandmother and a cousin, the healer invited her to undress for a mystical bath in a secluded space called a "khambe."

K. Tine recounted that while she was washing herself, G. Diop joined her and began caressing her until she lost consciousness. Upon waking, she noticed bleeding and abdominal pain, while the accused was wiping his genitals. His only explanation was that he simply ordered her to remain silent.

Confession retracted in court

The investigation revealed that the accused had given multiple versions of events. Initially, he claimed to investigators that the victim had thrown herself at him naked. Before the investigating judge, he finally admitted to forcing penetration after caressing the young woman, stating that he had seen blood afterward. However, in court, G. Diop categorically denied any sexual relationship, asserting that the victim bathed alone.

The medical certificate, however, confirmed the accusations, stating that there was a recent hymenal tear that bled upon contact. Despite the victim's apology expressed in a letter withdrawing her complaint, the prosecutor maintained that the facts were undisputed and requested a 15-year prison sentence.

The defense pleads reasonable doubt

The defense lawyers, Ayi, Faty, and Gomis, attempted to sow doubt by emphasizing the implausibility of a rape committed while the victim's family was nearby. They argued for outright acquittal, claiming that the defendant's final denials should benefit him. The court did not agree, upholding the healer's guilt.

Au lieu de faire des projets de loi pour les élection juste parce que deu ngen tit , il faut faire un projet de loi contre les marabouts peine d'emprisonnement de 6 a 10 ans plus dommages et intérêts aussi faire des lois contre l'escroquerie au Sénégal ou c trop , il faut aussi crée une ligue de défense de la protection des consommateurs au Sénégal parce que personne ne respecte les acheteurs dans ce pays y'a qua voir les prix des moutons de la tabaski c une preuve
