Thiès : Un atelier de couture transformé en fumoir, un ambulancier et ses amis arrêtés
The Thiès court of summary jurisdiction examined a case of possession and use of marijuana involving three young men, including an ambulance driver, on Friday, April 24. The defendants, identified as M. Dioum, M. Sarr, and A. Mbaye, were brought to trial after being apprehended in a tailor's workshop.
According to the case file, the suspects were caught smoking marijuana in tailor Mr. Sarr's workshop, which had been converted into a makeshift smoking room. Their arrest followed a tip-off about suspicious activity at the premises. Law enforcement officers raided the location and found the three individuals in possession of a small bag of marijuana.
Placed in pretrial detention, they appeared before the competent court where they all admitted to the charges against them. In court, the defendants expressed remorse, apologized, and promised not to use the substance again.
The public prosecutor, considering the facts sufficiently established, requested the application of the law. The court adjourned the case for deliberation and will render its verdict soon.
