Thiès : Un homme de 40 ans jugé pour le viol d'une bébé de 2 ans !
Mr. Camara, a 40-year-old Guinean national, is being prosecuted for rape, pedophilia, and abduction of a minor. He is accused of sexually assaulting two-year-old S. Gadiaga. The events took place in Thiès.
According to the investigation, on April 9, 2024, Ms. MD Sène filed a complaint with the police against Mr. Camara for sexual assault committed against her daughter. She explained to investigators that upon returning from the market around 8:00 p.m., she found her child unusually lethargic, having neither eaten nor stopped crying. The following day, the child was experiencing severe difficulty relieving herself. Upon a cursory examination of her genitals, the mother stated that she had observed injuries to her genital area.
The victim was immediately taken to the Mariama Sarr health post, then to the Thiès regional hospital. Medical examinations revealed lesions on the vulvar lips consistent with sexual touching, although the hymen was not torn.
The investigation established that the victim regularly went to the room of Mr. Camara, a tenant in the family compound, under the pretext of picking fruit. The investigation also revealed that on the day of the incident, after the other children had left the room, the accused was alone with the girl. It was at this moment that he allegedly sexually abused the victim.
The child's mother stated that she heard cries of distress coming from the accused's room at the time of the incident and that she saw him leaving with the child, claiming that the latter was hungry.
When questioned, Mr. Camara denied the allegations, while acknowledging that he was the only man present in the house. He also stated that the child regularly visited his room. The mother confirmed this, adding that her daughter was so attached to Mr. Camara that, when he returned home, she would lift his clothes, showing him her private parts while saying in Wolof, "Momo tate ya ngui ni" (My daughter's breasts are like that).
Charged with rape, pedophilia, and abduction of a minor, Mr. Camara was remanded in custody. After two years of pretrial detention, he appeared before the criminal court of the Thiès High Court on Tuesday, March 24, to stand trial. However, his hearing was ultimately postponed until April 14, 2026, due to the absence of the victim's medical certificate.
