Thiès : un individu interpellé pour culture présumée de chanvre indien à domicile

The police station of the 1st arrondissement of Thiès, on April 17, 2026, arrested an individual suspected of cultivating Indian hemp in his apartment.

According to police sources, the operation followed an anonymous tip reporting the presence of suspicious plants in the suspect's residence. A raid by law enforcement led to the discovery of two cannabis plants in a growing stage, carefully tended in flowerpots.

The search of the room also led to the seizure of residues as well as numerous Indian hemp seeds, elements suggesting an illicit cultivation activity.

As part of the procedure, a sample was taken and sent to the laboratory of the Technical and Scientific Police Division (DPTS) for analysis.

The suspect was taken into custody for alleged cultivation of Indian hemp.
