F. Ndiaye, a bricklayer prosecuted for theft, was sentenced to three months in prison. He was tried this Monday, December 29, by the Thiès court.
The plaintiff stated that she caught the accused stealing scrap metal with the intention of reselling it. She added that when she intervened, F. Ndiaye brandished a machete and attacked her.
The suspect was arrested and placed in pre-trial detention.
In court, he tried to deny the accusations. But the public prosecutor considered the facts to be established and requested the application of the law.
F. Ndiaye is found guilty of theft and is sentenced to 3 months in prison.
