THIÈS : Un marabout condamné à un mois ferme pour collecte illicite de données personnelles lors d'une relation amoureuse
A case stemming from a romantic relationship was heard before the Thiès court of summary jurisdiction. SB Ndiaye, a marabout originally from Touba, is being prosecuted for collecting personal data to the detriment of Ms. A. Bane.
According to the court proceedings, the defendant was in a romantic relationship with the plaintiff. In court, SB Ndiaye admitted to the acts. He stated that during his stays in Thiès, he would meet the young woman at a hotel in the city, where he filmed their sexual encounters without her knowledge.
"Every time I stayed in Thiès, we would meet in a hotel. I filmed our sexual encounters without her knowledge. It was for memories," he admitted in court.
The plaintiff, A. Bane, stated that the events took place on December 25, 2025. She explained that she had cut off all contact with the defendant by blocking him on her phone.
"He called me to meet at the hotel, but I couldn't reach him. I blocked him. That's how he sent me the obscene videos via WhatsApp," she said, adding that she had not been blackmailed or threatened by him.
Considering the facts established, the public prosecutor requested a sentence of two months imprisonment against the defendant.
The judge found the defendant guilty and sentenced him to one month in prison and a fine of 200,000 FCFA. The court ordered the return of his phone upon payment of the fine.
