Thiès : Un motocycliste piégé et attaqué à la machette, la police de Nguinth arrête deux agresseurs
The Nguinth police station brought two assailants before the Thiès prosecutor's office on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, on charges of criminal conspiracy, armed robbery committed at night, use of a vehicle, and illegal possession of a bladed weapon, according to Seneweb sources. The suspects are identified by the initials SSMN, 26, a painter, and FD, 21, a metalworker.
An ambush set in the night
In the early hours of Tuesday morning, around midnight, AAAN, riding his Jakarta motorcycle, was violently attacked at the Soump bus stop in Nguinth. According to his statement, an individual had hired him for a ride to that destination.
Upon arriving at the designated location, the client and his accomplices revealed their true criminal intentions. The SSMN suspect and another individual on a motorcycle, armed with a machete, then brutally attacked the motorcyclist. His "client" seized the opportunity to steal the Jakarta motorcycle and attempted to flee.
Citizen mobilization leads to an arrest
Reacting to the attack, AAA N alerted the neighborhood by shouting "Thief!" Residents gave chase and managed to apprehend SSMN, who was found in possession of a knife. His two accomplices fled but were forced to abandon the stolen motorcycle not far from the scene of the attack.
The apprehended suspect was taken to the Nguinth police station, accompanied by witnesses to the scene who contributed to his arrest.
During his interrogation, SSMN confessed to the crimes and implicated his accomplices FD and PS. Thanks to these revelations, investigators quickly located and arrested FD, the second member of the gang.
In turn, he admitted to having played the role of bait in this criminal operation, hiring the services of the Jakarta motorcycle driver to lure him into their ambush.
The two suspects were brought before the Thiès prosecutor's office on Wednesday, December 24. Police are actively continuing their search to locate and arrest PS, the third member of the gang who is still at large.
