Touba : un tapissier de 23 ans accusé de viol sur une déficiente mentale de 16 ans, tombée enceinte
Last Wednesday, the Touba special police station referred a 23-year-old upholsterer to the Diourbel High Court, accused of raping a mentally disabled minor. The case reveals a particularly serious situation involving a 16-year-old girl, who is now pregnant.
The case was brought to the attention of the authorities on September 17, 2025, when Ms. AD filed a complaint against SF Niang with the Touba special police station. She accused him of rape and subsequent impregnation of her daughter N. Ndiaye Diop, who has a mental disability. SF Niang, aged 23, residing in Touba Tally Bou Bess, works as an upholsterer. He was taken into police custody on September 22, 2025 for the charges against him.
A damning medical certificate
Following a referral to a qualified gynecologist, the medical certificate issued revealed a particularly worrying situation. It confirmed that the case involved a 16-year-old adolescent with an intellectual disability and an ongoing pregnancy estimated at twenty-six weeks of amenorrhea, or approximately six and a half months of pregnancy.
Partial confessions of the accused
Summoned to the Touba special police station and questioned on the basis of a regular report, SF Niang admitted to having had sexual relations with the victim. However, he disputes the classification of rape, claiming that these acts were "consensual" and that they took place on two occasions, according to Seneweb sources.L
The case was referred to the courts with the referral of SF Niang to the Diourbel High Court last Wednesday.
