Trafic de drogue : le cuisinier, l’axe Ben Tally-Ouagou Niayes et le mystérieux comprimé blanc
On Tuesday, April 7, around 5 a.m., the Grand-Dakar Research Brigade arrested Mr. Barry, a 34-year-old cook, suspected of involvement in drug trafficking between Ouakam and Grand-Dakar. Under surveillance following an anonymous tip, he was arrested near the "Venizia" fast-food restaurant, a joint in his hand.
According to details of the investigation revealed by L'Observateur, the suspect left Cité Avion every day to supply dealers in Ben Tally and Ouagou Niayes. Anxious to leave no trace, he imposed a golden rule: payments exclusively in cash to avoid any evidence.
The body search led to the seizure of a veritable arsenal for resale: six stones of MDMA (crystallized form of ecstasy), a classic ecstasy tablet, a ball of hashish, a precision electronic scale and the sum of 331,500 FCFA in cash.
Among the items seized, a mysterious white pill particularly intrigued investigators. Analysis by forensic scientists revealed it to be carbromal, an obsolete sedative-hypnotic withdrawn from the market due to its powerful depressant effects, the same source confirmed.
When questioned by investigators, the newspaper from Groupe Futurs Médias reports, Mr. Barry attempted to portray himself as a simple consumer. This version was deemed implausible given the evidence seized, which points more towards a structured resale operation.
