Trafic de kush à Thiaroye Kao : Un Burkinabé pris en flagrant délit par la police de Yeumbeul Sud

Police officers from the Yeumbeul South police station, under the command of Lieutenant Sow, arrested a Burkinabe national in possession of kush in Thiaroye Kao during a large-scale security operation on the night of October 18-19, 2025. The suspect, taken to the station, identified himself as A. Sawadogo, born in 2003 in Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso) and allegedly a worker.

His arrest is part of a larger operation to combat serious crime and drug trafficking. The sleuths had received an anonymous tip indicating the presence of a synthetic drug trafficker operating in Thiaroye Kao, according to Seneweb sources. The police raided the indicated locations, where they set up a surveillance system, and was successful.

The police discovered on the suspect kush packaged in ten thin, single-dose papers ready for retail sale. A security search also revealed the presence of 2,000 CFA francs and a 20 Nigerian naira note in his pockets, likely the proceeds of illicit transactions.

Questioned at the police station, A. Sawadogo admitted to owning the seized drugs. More importantly, he said he had obtained them from a supplier based in Pikine, thus opening a new lead for investigators.

The seized drugs and money were placed under seal for the purposes of the proceedings. The public prosecutor at the Pikine-Guédiawaye High Court has been notified of the case.

The accused was taken into custody and an investigation was opened.
