For several days, access to and from the terminals of the Port of Dakar have been operating at a reduced capacity. This congestion, which has impacted the mobility of freight carriers, is explained by port authorities as a "significant increase in the volume of goods" at the various piers and terminals. The Port Authority of Dakar (PAD) also cites the influence of "external factors" that have directly affected the usual smooth flow of operations.

To resolve the bottlenecks, the Port has deployed exceptional measures. Operational teams are currently on site, benefiting from the strategic support of the Defense and Security Forces. This collaboration aims to clear traffic routes and secure the flow of trucks entering and leaving the port area.

The statement also specifies that the administrative authorities are working in close coordination with the Port Authority. The objective is to synchronize all peripheral activities that could influence, directly or indirectly, the "smooth operation of the port."

Aware of the impact of these slowdowns on the supply chain, the management of the Port Authority of Douala (PAD) sought to reassure its partners. It described these difficulties as "temporary" and called on the entire port community to join forces.
