Tragédie à Yeumbeul : Le chauffeur dévie sa route pour sauver un passager, mais l'irréparable se produit
On May 8, 2026, at around 3:30 p.m., the Yeumbeul-Sud police station was alerted to the discovery of a lifeless body on board a bus on line 52, near the Thiaroye Kao Usine “Ndokh” neighborhood.
According to information gathered from the driver, the victim, A. Ndiaye, 73 years old, residing in Malika, had boarded the vehicle at Thiaroye to go home.
En route, he suffered a seizure. Given the urgency of the situation, the driver immediately diverted to the nearest medical facility. Unfortunately, upon their arrival at the office of retired Colonel MDS, A. Ndiaye had already passed away. The doctor immediately alerted the police.
Investigators who arrived at the scene found the victim lying face down in the bus aisle. An asthma inhaler and medication were found in his possession, suggesting he suffered from heart and respiratory problems.
The body was taken by firefighters to the Idrissa Pouye General Hospital in Grand Yoff. An autopsy has been requested to determine the exact circumstances of the death. Prosecutor Saliou Dicko has been informed and an investigation is underway.
