Travaux sur le réseau hydraulique : Des coupures d’eau prévues à Dakar et à Rufisque
SEN'EAU, the company responsible for managing drinking water in Senegal, has announced a major maintenance operation that will temporarily affect water distribution in several neighborhoods in Dakar and Rufisque. These interventions are scheduled for Wednesday, August 13 and Thursday, August 14, 2025.
According to the official statement, the work will consist of replacing certain hydraulic equipment on the distribution network. This initiative aims to strengthen the system's performance and reliability, taking advantage of the seasonal decline in water consumption during the Magal de Touba.
The areas most affected by this interruption are Rufisque, Dakar, and its surrounding areas. SEN'EAU indicated that the shutdown of the Carmel booster pump, essential for transporting water to the capital, is essential to carry out these repairs. Users should therefore expect a decrease in pressure, or even temporary outages.
To limit disruptions, the company plans to deploy tanker trucks to supply the most affected areas. A gradual resumption of service is expected on the evening of Thursday, August 14.
SEN'EAU calls on the population to show understanding and thanks them for their patience in the face of these disruptions, which are necessary to improve the network.

Dites plutôt couper Dakar pour alimenter Touba
On est habitué à chaque Magal
On s'est battu pour le changement et la réappropriation de notre eau mais pas pour ce résultat
