Un bus Moussala-Dakar se renverse à Pondala: 23 blessés dont le chauffeur qui est dans un état grave
A serious traffic accident occurred this Saturday morning on National Route 7, in the department of Saraya, resulting in several injuries and causing widespread shock in the Kédougou region. The tragedy happened around 7:00 a.m., between the towns of Bembou and Pondala, when a public transport bus traveling between Moussala and Dakar overturned under circumstances that are still unclear.
According to initial findings, the vehicle was carrying several passengers at the time of the accident. The preliminary report from the scene indicates twenty-three injured, including one serious case identified as the bus driver. The victims were quickly rescued before being transported to the Kédougou Regional Hospital where they are currently receiving medical treatment.
Witnesses at the scene suggest the driver may have been distracted by using a mobile phone at the time of the accident. However, this information remains to be confirmed, as no official statement has yet been made by the relevant authorities regarding the exact causes of the tragedy.
Alerted, members of the road brigade went to the scene to carry out the usual procedures, secure the area and open an investigation to determine the precise circumstances of this accident.
