Tragedy has struck the town of Barkedji. El Hadji Coundoul, a 45-year-old father and mason by trade, was found dead, hanging from a tree, about two kilometers from the village.

The tragedy occurred on Friday, April 24, around 1 p.m., in the bush. The victim had left Barkedji that morning to go to work in Gasset, a neighboring village three kilometers away.

However, the circumstances of this hanging raise serious questions. According to initial findings, the death is considered suspicious: his cell phones and wallet were missing. These clues lead investigators to believe it was a murder disguised as a suicide.

Upon being informed of the situation, the gendarmes from Barkedji, accompanied by the local head nurse, immediately went to the scene of the tragedy. After the usual procedures, the body was removed by firefighters and taken to the morgue at Magatte Lô Hospital in Linguère. The body was then transferred to Dakar for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.

Jai toujours emis des doutes quand a ces pendaisons souvent qualifiées de suicide au vue de leur recurrence. La plus serait des meurtre déguisés. On en compte trop meme dans la zone de Linguère et environs
