Un million F CFA pour corrompre les policiers de la BRS de Dakar : le pari perdu de deux proches d'un trafiquant international de drogue
On Tuesday, June 2, 2026, the Dakar Regional Narcotics Brigade (BRS), under the Central Office for the Repression of Illicit Drug Trafficking (OCRTIS), dismantled an international hard drug trafficking network. Three individuals were arrested between 3:30 p.m. and 8:10 p.m. for criminal conspiracy, possession and international trafficking of drugs (hashish, cocaine, and MDMA), attempted bribery, and complicity. Prosecutor Saliou Dicko was informed of the facts.
It all began when MBD, a 49-year-old driver residing in Yeumbeul, spontaneously went to the Dakar BRS (Brigade de Répression du Sécurité - Security Brigade). He stated that he was receiving threats from couriers of a suspicious package which he claimed to have received before disposing of it after checking its contents: a can of palm oil concealing drugs, including hashish, cocaine, and MDMA.
His information was immediately used by investigators. With his active cooperation, a controlled delivery with product substitution was organized to identify and arrest the members of the network.
The delivery driver, then the client caught in the trap
Once contacted, the package recipient dispatched their delivery driver to the location. When questioned, the driver stated that he had been instructed by someone named "Ibou" to retrieve the package. He then contacted his representative, who arranged a meeting at Golf Sud for the final delivery.
This is how I. Sow, 20 years old, claiming to be a merchant residing in Guédiawaye, arrived at the scene in a Ford. Spotted as he attempted to flee, he was immediately apprehended. A body search led to the seizure of an iPhone. The search of his home in Guédiawaye proved even more fruitful: investigators discovered six blister packs of Alprazolam containing sixty tablets, a roll of aluminum foil, a basin of palm oil, and a cocaine pipe.
When questioned about the origin of the package and the seized tablets, I.Sow admitted to being the owner and indicated that the drugs came from Ziguinchor, without further details.
The audacious act: a blatant attempt at bribery
It was then that the case took a particularly serious turn. While the police were arresting I. Sow, two individuals approached the officers, each in their own vehicle. They were S. Fall, 27, a driver residing in Parcelles Assainies, who arrived in a Ford Escape, and M. Fall, 42, a sheet metal worker residing in Parcelles Assainies Unit 01, driving a Citroën.
The two men openly attempted to buy the release of their accomplice by handing over one million CFA francs to the police. This blatant act of corruption immediately backfired: they were arrested on the spot for attempted bribery and complicity in international drug trafficking, according to Seneweb sources.
The drugs, cell phones, cash, and vehicles were seized and placed under seal. The three suspects were taken into custody after being informed of their rights, including the right to legal counsel of their choice. They will face charges of criminal conspiracy, international trafficking of hard drugs, money laundering, attempted bribery, and complicity in drug trafficking.
